Robert L. Cotton Sr. of Eaton Rapids,
Passed away August 12, 2019 at the age of 87. He was born in Eureka, Michigan on July 20, 1932, the son of Morris and Crystal (Wagner) Cotton. Robert worked for Olofsson Tool and Die as a Steel Smith. He was a life-time member of the NRA, a member of the American Legion Post 491, owned and operated Ashland Gas and Service Station in Lansing, and proudly served his country in US Army during the Korean War. Robert enjoyed riding motorcycles, hot rod and antique cars and was an avid gun collector.
In his final chapter of life, he found happiness with his soul mate, JoAnn Stone before going to his forever home. Robert is also survived by his children, Monika (Louie) Goins, Mike (Janet) McMullen, John McMullen, Bobbie Sue (Robert) Welling, Tonya (Nick) Fuentes, Kim Matthyssen, Robert (Deb) Cotton, Billi (Robert Shields) McMullen; step-children, Cindy (Mike) Perry, Tammy (Darryl) Hill; siblings, Kaylene Shattuck, Morey Cotton, Michael Cotton, Jean Miller; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 49 years, Patricia Cotton; son, Gary Cotton; brothers, Roland and Charles Cotton.
Funeral services with Military Honors will be held 11 am Friday, August 16, 2019 at the Mills Funeral Home, Shelly-Odell Chapel with Pastor Toby Teague officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm.
