Amelia Ayala of Jackson,

Passed away following a long hard-fought battle with her many health issues surrounded by her loving family on March 19, 2020 at the age of 77. Amelia was born on September 9, 1942, the daughter of Manuel and Aurora (Canales) Gutierrez. She was married to Domingo Ayala and together they raised 8 children. Amelia loved to cook, bake for her family and make cakes for her grandchildren.  

Amelia is survived by her husband, Domingo; children, Mary Ann Hakeem of Jackson, Teresa (Vic) Miller of Spring Arbor, Suzanne (Mark) Dowding of Onondaga, Katina Nixon of Jackson, Christopher Rose of AL, Leigh Ann (Robert) Betz of Albion, Richard (Lisa) Astran of CA and Rose Marie Young of CA; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; siblings, Aurora (Tomas) Salinas of CA, Adoracion Ruiz of Lansing, Virginia Ziegler of Lansing, Celia (Raymond) Payne of Jackson and Dalia (Eddie) San Miguel of Lansing; special friend, Hmna Angie Longoria. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Manuel (Virginia) Gutierrez Jr., Aida (Beto) Benavidez, Uvaldo Gutierrez, David Gutierrez and Maria Gutierrez. 

A private family service will take place at a later date. The family would like to thank Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home for taking great care of our mother.
