Domingo Licon Ayala of Jackson,
Passed away November 23, 2021, at the age of 83. Domingo was born in Carlsbad, NM, June 16, 1938, the son of Eustacio and Ignacia Ayala. He attended Lovington School in NM. In 1958, he entered into the US Army where he served 3 tours during the Vietnam War and retired after 24 years. Domingo was a member of the American Legion in Jackson and a former member of the Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Lansing. He was a devoted and loving family man that enjoyed reading anything by Louis L’Amour, coloring, working on crossword puzzles, stumping everyone on riddles, listening to country music and watching westerns.
Domingo is survived by his children, Mary Ann Hakeem of Jackson, Teresa (Vic) Miller of Spring Arbor, Suzanne (Mark) Dowding of Onondaga, Katina Nixon of Jackson, Christopher (Angie) Rose of AL, Leigh Ann (Robert) Betz of Albion, Richard (Lisa) Astran of CA and Rose Marie Young of CA; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Amelia and siblings, Adelaida Long, Alberto (Anna) Ayala and Pedro Ayala.
Funeral services will be 11 am Wednesday December 1, 2021, at the Mills Funeral Home, Shelly-Odell Chapel. Interment will follow in Lane Cemetery in Onondaga. Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 4-6 pm and Wednesday, one hour prior to the service. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Disabled Veterans.
