Kay Marie Evans of Rockford,
Was reunited with Jesus and her loved ones on September 16, 2021. Kay was born in Niagara Falls, NY., January 14, 1924, the daughter of Julius and Rose (Trunzo) Roberts. She had many professions over the years from scooping out ice cream sundaes after school to help support her large family, attending the Detroit Business Institute during the day after graduation and working in the GM Fleetwood Division Cost Department in the evenings during WWII. After the war, she worked as a private secretary for the Dean of Business at the Detroit Institute of Technology, and it is there that she met William Evans Jr. and fell in love. Their first home was located in Detroit and they later moved to Livonia where Kay attended Madonna College, studying fine arts while raising her four children. After relocating to West Bloomfield, Kay managed 2 art galleries in Birmingham. With the lucrative real estate market booming in the 70’s, Kay obtained her realtor’s license. When her husband, Bill passed away in 1984, Kay followed her children to the west side of the state and moved to Spring Lake. That is where she worked for the cable company and a florist before retiring and moving to the Rockford area. Over the years, Kay has created many pieces of beautiful artwork that her family cherishes and proudly displays in their personal homes. The family would like to thank Boulder Creek Assisted Living for the loving care that they bestowed upon Kay over the years.
