Pauline Marie Samson of Jackson,
Pauline Samson met her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, face-to-face when He gently blew out her earthly candle on December 15, 2020. She was born April 25, 1928 to Clement and Hazel (Benn) Dack. Pauline called Maple Lane Road in Rives Junction, home for the majority of her 92 years and never tired of the view from her kitchen window. She retired from the U.S. Postal Service after more than 30 years as a rural mail carrier. Pauline was an active member of the Clinton Road Bible Baptist Church for many years prior to a stroke in 2008. She loved flowers and spent countless enjoyable hours caring for her gardens. Pauline was an excellent cook, liked to crochet and embroider, and used her skills to bless family and friends with expressions of her love. In spite of the many challenges she faced in later years, Pauline repeatedly demonstrated determined perseverance. We are grateful for the caregivers who were kind, compassionate and encouraging to Mom.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Kenneth Samson, and her son, Gene Samson. She is survived by her son, Dr. Keith (Margaret) Samson; her daughter, Dawn (Tom) Freeman; two grandchildren, Anthony Samson and Dawn Samson; two great-grandchildren, Mia and Gianni; as well as two of her nine siblings, Aletha “Dovey” Richardson and Floyd (Belva) Dack. Also surviving, are sisters-in-law Evelyn Samson, Nellie Samson, Dorothy Dack and many nieces and nephews.
