Obituary

Rita May Hubbard of Albion,

Passed away February 24, 2020 at the age of 82. Rita was born in Springport, MI, September 29, 1937, the daughter of Kelly and Monabell (Richardson) England. She graduated from Springport High School in 1954. Rita worked as a nanny for many years and was a foster mother to 48 kids. She then went on to work for Union Steel, Ganton’s and Spartan Manufacturing. Rita enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, baking and knitting. She loved to make hats, blankets and mittens for her family and was known to donate many of those items to the hospitals. Rita will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Richard) Lewis of Jackson; son, David Hubbard of Kalona, IA; grandchildren, Archie (Jennifer) Hall of Albion, Bobby Smith of Albion, Benjamin Smith of Dexter and Jasmine Corbitt of IA; great grandchildren, Dylan, Maizyn and Mea Hall; brother, Mitchell England; special nephew, Butch Lucas; several other nieces and nephews. Rita was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jodie Hubbard; special nephews, Joe and Kelly England; brother, Arlo (Ollie) England; sister-in-law, Mary England.

Memorial services will be 11 am Saturday February 29, 2020 at the Mills Funeral Home, Shelly-Odell Chapel, 518 S. Main St. Eaton Rapids. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service.
