Ronald Lynn Kniffen of Eaton Rapids,
Passed away August 15, 2021,surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Ron was 61. He was born in Lansing, MI January 5, 1960, the son of Keith and Dawn (Bentley) Kniffen. He retired from General Motors in 2008, loved to work in his garden, hunt in his favorite spot, his son’s backyard, and fish, especially ice fish. Ron was a member of the Michigan Walleye Tour, Biggy Smallies Bass Club, Southern Michigan Pan Fishing Club, Uncle Joe’s Walleye Pro’s and won the Midwest Open in 2011. The love for his grandchildren was abundant and he will be greatly missed.
Ron is survived by his mother, Dawn Kniffen; wife, Becky Kniffen; children, Keith (Tiffany) Kniffen, Shayla (Steve) Packer, Zachary Kniffen; grandchildren, Brayden, Mackenzie, Payton, Haiden and Easton; sister, Karen (Scott) Kirkpatrick; numerous nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Connie Hardwick; brother-in-laws, Barry (Lori) Hardwick, Bruce Hardwick, Jamie (Dawn) Hardwick, Jeremy (Debbie) Hardwick; sister-in-law, Jacki (Donny) Knoph. He was preceded in death by his father, Keith Kniffen; father-in-law, William Hardwick; niece Staci Hardwick; sister-in-law, Janean Hardwick.
Funeral services will be 11 am Friday August 20, 2021, at the Mills Funeral Home, Shelly-Odell Chapel with interment following in Perry Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Thursday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm and Friday one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
