Stanley Dail Black of Eaton Rapids,
Stan was carried into heaven by the arms of angels, February 19, 2020 at the age of 76. He was born in Allegan, Michigan, March 23, 1943, the son of Delbert and Agnes (Staley) Black. Stan graduated from Olivet High School and attended Jackson Community College. He proudly served his country with the US Army during the Vietnam War. Stan retired from the State Police after 29 years, serving at 5 posts during his career. He was a member of the state police pistol team, the American Legion and St. Peter Catholic Church. Stan enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, cutting wood, biking and traveling with his wife and good friends.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Martha Black; sisters, Ardeth (Gaylord) Harris of Olivet, Margot Benham of AZ; Stan was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Wilma Black.
Funeral services will be 11 am Tuesday February 25, 2020 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 515 E. Knight St., Eaton Rapids with Fr. George Puthenpeedika officiating. Interment will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Mills Funeral Home, Shelly-Odell Chapel, Monday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm with a Rosary prayed at 7 pm.
